¡Hola Amigos!
We have had several requests for information regarding our adventure trip to Costa Rica. Emails are laborious and difficult to send many photos; Facebook is too busy for me to navigate through; so I have decided to create our own blog! Nothing fancy - just the basic narrative, and hopefully some fun photos.
Even though we have been gone from home already for 6 weeks, I have been keeping notes throughout, so I can try to recreate what has already taken place. We have taken over 1000 photos, all of which are still on our laptop, as I am having a rough time trying to learn how to organize them. Just when I think I figure it out, the computer shuts down and my work is lost! Anyway, I will persevere until I can successfully upload photos for you to view.
My first successful photo shows the kids and I at a "bus stop" just outside of the San Jose airport. We had just flown all night from Denver to Costa Rica, without sleep. It is 7:00am, and we are waiting for the Interbus to pick us up and take us to the Guanacaste region for some beach time. Interbus is actually a large van, and the trip to Sámara beach took us 5 hours, enduring some amazing stretches of bumpy roads along the way, sitting up while falling asleep, only to be awakened by a wild curve in the road, or an impatient driver attempting to pass us on a blind hill. We finally arrived at Hotel Fenix at 3:00, exhausted and starving, but ecstatic to see the ocean once again!
This is the view of the Fenix Hotel from the ocean - very lush!

Love the blog. Had no idea you were in Costa Rica! Janet and Chris
